A murmurator

Starlings are underrated. They always seem to have had a reputation for behaving badly and being a bit gawky (whatever that means).

But there is much more to them really. As this blip shows their plumage is very attractive.

In the next week or two we shall begin to see several flocks of them passing our window in the late afternoon. They will all be on their way to the reed beds at RSPB Leighton Moss about two miles away where they will perform the murmurations so beloved of wild life cameramen.

As BBC Autumnwatch is coming back there again this year no doubt these will be featured.

And if we are lucky I hope Knottman2 will be showing them on a Blip.
