Another Storm

Last night another southerly front passed through. For a while the wind was wild, blowing small branches and sparrow’s nests from the big fir trees. As night fell, so too did the temperature, and then snow! This morning it was thin and crunchy on the grass. The nearby hills were pretty and the mountains had the most snow I’d seen all winter. But the sunshine was warm. By 11.30am, when I took this photo, the melt was already under way.

Best seen large. In this shot the Red Peak can be seen peeping over the flank of the mountain at left. It’s not visible from my place.
