Majesty

We couldn’t resist another trip to the coast to watch the raptor build-up today so the three of us trooped off having a better idea this time of where we were heading.

We took a 7km dodgy, gravelled road down to a viewing point and slowly but steadily the birds built up to more or less the same numbers as yesterday. We were expecting lighter winds and perhaps seeing some heading across to Africa but despite light winds at Medina, the Tarifa coastline was blustery.

The birds were doing what seemed like reccies out to sea but none of them seemed to make the move across. I experienced a similar feeling to my planet feeling when I’m out alone in the hills as we watched them all heading past us like troops. They really are quite majestic.

This evening, we walked to the top of the Medina hill before dinner and this is a photo of Rich and his mum enjoying the views down the hill.
