Restaurant in Bucharest

It rained all day in Bucharest today, so we were glad to retreat with our guide to this wonderful historic building in the center for lunch. It houses the restaurant "Caru' cu bere", which means " with beer"--I neglected to ask our guide what "caru" means. In any case my Ursus Black draft beer (local) was excellent.

Otherwise we went to the Museum of Art Collectors in the morning, with an extensive collection from private collections. In the afternoon we visited the Peasant Museum, which was top notch--most striking were the rural costumes, from all areas and ethnic minorities in the country.

Tomorrow we head to the airport at the crack of dawn, to fly back to Massachusetts, after a wonderful 20 days in Bulgaria and Romania.
