Barzan village

A topshot of the valley behind our house looking towards the next village. These fields are often full of sunflowers in summer and are still farmed in strips, which looks rather medieval to our eyes. A line of trees along the river is just starting to show some autumn colour. When the Gironde floods, which has happened quite recently, this whole valley fills with water... hence the land is designated as marais or water-meadow.
