Air-to-Surface Attack!

This is all that's left of a pigeon after a sparrow hawk decided to make it her lunch. I've seen her strike in the garden before but never anything as big as a pigeon. She strips the bird of most of it's feathers and then carries it off over the garden wall. Incredible sight.

I was buried under a mountain of paperwork for 5 hours and then had to take Mckenzie for his last nursery visit before he starts next week. I sneaked out but needn't have worried because when we called to see how he was doing, they were laughing. Apparently the teachers had told the children to sit for tea, as they were about to bring the food trolley in. He was obviously the first to sit down! Pity he isn't always this eager to comply with requests.
