Diary of an Edinburgher

The New Look Arch

My path man arrived this morning, and set to, tiling the step. Beautiful black and white traditional Victorian tiles. It is going to look wonderful!

Then we set off across town to take Archie to the groomer's. He sat on my knee in the front (passenger seat), which seems to be his preferred position, but isn't really a long term solution. He jumped in happily and took a great interest in the passing parade. No sick bags needed.

Craig the Groomer was happy to see him again, and once more enthused about Archie's manners, temperament and looks - just what proud parents owners like to hear, of course. But he probably he says that to all his customers...

While we waited for him, we wandered down to a local French restaurant for lunch. Two courses for £7:90! Plus a wee fresh green salad, olives, salami and bread to begin with. We both had a delicious coq au vin, and I had a wonderful (ie relatively large) creme caramel, while JR had fromage. And there was a quiet French music soundtrack. We could even imagine we were in Paris. But the service was better...

Archie is charging round in his new haircut. I think he likes it. He can see out!
