Every Picture Tells .....

It 'aint half hot

Up early for a holiday Sunday morning and a two minute walk to Victory Square to wait for the festival procession over a cappuccino.

There was a mini re-enactment in the square and we followed the troops up to St John's Cavalier Tower to watch the full blown event under a clear blue sky and temperatures approaching 30 degrees C.

It must be pretty hot for those men in tights tied with ribbons, but an excellent performance of a Knights' Period 16th Century military parade with guns, cannons, fencing, marching, drumming and countless fanfares.

A walk round the harbour and a beer at Vittoriosa where the super yachts are berthed, lunch back in Victory Square and then another walk to Kalkara where there are still traditional fishing boats but they are now being overshadowed by a new marina and my favourite pasty shop where I forced myself to purchase some of their delights.
