Is it cold enough yet?

Clearly not, as the fly infestation continues.

Every year, around this time, the flies gather and beat themselves against the windows. Sometimes they just die, there in front of you, dropping from the sky like an aid drop or something.

They collect on the windowsill, or stick to the fly papers that I've not yet soaked the arsenic out of. Until we go round and sweep them all up. Soon it'll be cold enough for them to stop breeding.
