The Wild Wild West

Short films, about oceans...

So went to the Ocean Film Festival, a series of short films. Couldn't help feeling how painful it must've been making the surf film in big waves off Tasmania.

The most amusement and laughs were had by two typically Public School voiced Englishmen, who, in a too much wine moment, vowed to row across the Indian Ocean. Despite never having rowed before. Or been to sea. Or having a support yacht. Or any experience of this sort of thing. Even after 116 days at sea together they seemed cheerful, yet I'm sure that wasn't the every day scene!

Highlight of the film for me was the paralysed woman who was duct-taped to a surfer to try surfing. I wondered about her companions motivation, but it certainly showed what useful stuff duct-tape is (knowing from experience it's not bad at fixing holes on dry suits....)
