Out with the old……

The week started in crisis with water stains on the kitchen ceiling and dripping onto the floor from the light fitting. All this was coming from the bathroom, a plumber was needed, and quickly. Luckily one of our new neighbours of a few door down is a plumber, we’d clocked his van parked outside fairly early on and made a mental note. Even though it was before eight he promised to come round shortly and did. An investigation led to the conclusion that a pipe, either water or radiator, was leaking under the bathroom floor, a floor that is clad in ceramic tiles.

We agreed to leave it until the electrician arrives tomorrow and finds out whether the kitchen ceiling or bathroom floor is going to be removed as part of the re-wiring, he will then come back and hopefully fix the problem.

The plumber was still here when Kitchen Man came round to draw up the official plans for the new kitchen based of the drawings I’d made on the computer. He agreed with most of the design we’d made and produced an official ‘pick list’ plus a printout showing the 3D representation of what the kitchen will look like. That was more enjoyable than searching for leaks.

Our builder Martin arrived and set to taking apart some of the old kitchen, today’s picture. This is so he can block off the back door and Boiler Man can set up a new radiator in its place. That end of the kitchen will be a breakfast room.

I was too busy to go to ‘work’ this afternoon, but we did manage to pop in for a sneaky coffee at Nero.

Another day tomorrow.
