Just a facade......

.....these days, the auditorium was demolished in the mid naughties and is now the site of the new local library and council offices.....you can still just about make out the scarring from the glass portico that used to cover the entrance (but only if you squint hard;-)) I found a picture of the original theatre facade (from the other side) at cinematreasures.org and an archaeological report that was commissioned before the library was built on the site.
