New beach huts, Swanage - still under construction

To quote verbatim from Swanage Town Council's website:

"A scheme was devised which includes the construction of new public toilets, two tiers of beach huts and a permanent kiosk on the corner of Shore Road and Victoria Avenue. The design has been sensitive to the conservation area, ensuring a break in the second tier and a restriction in the height of the huts to preserve the green appearance of the Recreation Ground from the beach. Incorporated in the scheme are six 'premium' huts which are 1 1/2 size of the standard huts.

All new huts will be equipped with a table, four chairs, storage cupboard and electric power point. The premium huts will be equipped with a table, six chairs, a parasol, storage cupboard and electric power point."



One can only marvel at the sensitive pastel shades chosen for the doors and the genial absence of any windows (no doubt to prevent any incoming sand or waves from forcing their way into the huts).
