Spice of life

I made Singapore Chicken Curry from scratch (as opposed to from a packet) today, with the help of a Peranakan recipe from a FB friend. Like a little nyonya I was chopping and then pounding the onions, shallots, chilies, cloves of garlic and ginger (although I didn't do it squatting down nor in a sarong). It tasted very good and there's some left for tomorrow :-) These obviously were the ingredients for the rempah (the home-made spice paste) and the spices, the end result is here.
