The Village Shop

I have been staying with my brother and sister in law who live in Uley, Gloucestershire.

Their local shop and Post Office closed down some years ago.

The locals were simply not prepared to allow that to happen.

They took a lease of the former shop premises and now run it themselves on behalf of the community. They have even had a visit from Prince Charles to give encouragement.

The harder I looked at the cat asleep on the chair the more certain I became that one could see that it was breathing!
