Strike in Stuttgart Train S-Bahn

Unfortunately, the S-Bahn trains in Stuttgart today went on strike. I dont know what are their demands as when i searched about it online, all i got were info and news in German. I couldnt understand one bit!

The last activity during the workshop today was a trip to the supercomputer in HLRS University of Stuttgart and the Cave. The super computer room houses computer clusters which caters to researchers all over Germany and Europe. It was rather loud inside the computer room though as fans from the ground floor blow cool air upwards to decrease the temperature of the machines inside the room. We also got to visit "The Cave". It was the coolest thing i have ever experienced since experiencing 3D movies. The Cave is like 3d movie but more! Instead of the image being pre-manipulated for you in movies, with The Cave, you get to manipulate the 3D environment and you can actually feel that you are part of the environment. The name of the 3d visualization facility is very descriptive of how it looks like. Users can get inside a cube (except that it is missing one side) and images are being projected into all sides. According to the personnel, images are projected 120 times in a second! whoa! We get to wear 3d glasses with one master glasses. The one who wears the master glasses gets to control the environment. The coolest one that we tried was probably the simulation of an air shaft. We sort of went inside the air shaft and simulation of the air coming into the shaft were run while we were inside it. So there were spheres representing particles of air. So what happened was we were surrounded by spheres of different colors as the simulation began. Almost like drowning if those particles were water molecules!

Yuanwei and I took Bus 91 and U-bahn line 2 to go back to the city centre. We tried the Chinese restaurant called Tao Tao that was recommended by one participant from the workshop. It was a little bit expensive than the restaurant we tried yesterday but they had more selection. And we got to have ice cream in the end too!

This station is the nearest U-Bahn stop, called Rathaus, to the Chinese Restaurant that we went to.
