Day 2 of 9

Began the morning with a successful ticket hunt. With nothing sorted for the trip to Singapore next week, we did feel it needed to be a priority. Mission accomplished with only a few detours & head scratchings.

Then a few more unproductive laps of the mall before settling on the idea of Batu Caves ad today's tourist achievement. Easy enough to navigate on the local train, it pulls up right outside the gate.

Large statues of deities & popup giftshops lined the outside. There were stairs, an egytianesque pornstar-like nativity statue display, stairs, monkeys & hawkers. Did I mention stairs? But nothing's ever gained by quitting...

Several areas to checkout & it only needs about 3hrs of your day (including return train travel)

272 stairs to find this - a large cavern used for prayer & a gathering of pilgrims in February. Struggling with vertigo, it was a queasy hike to the top.

Hotel to cool down before drinks in the lobby & a rather good (& well stocked) Indian buffet enjoyed before a shower & time off our feet before we do more tomorrow.
