The Long Road South

It was a beautiful morning and incredibly mild, but all good things have to come to an end and we left our Black Isle holiday cottage to head home down the A9.

We stopped at the shopping extravaganza that is House of Bruar to break the journey (because it has good toilets).  You have never seen so many cars.  We have visited only a handful of times, but the car parking capacity seems to grow exponentially.  All those cars mean lots of people.  The toilet queues were prohibitive.  We made a fast exit.  Even with all the parking provision someone was waiting to get into my parking space.  What a place.

We stopped in Blair Atholl for a pleasant lunch, and then hit the quiet(er) roads to take granny and granddad home.  After a short stop, BB and I were back in the car for the rest of our journey home.

When we got home TT was in the middle of making us a lovely homecoming tea which was very much appreciated.  BB managed to stay awake to watch Dr Who – but he will sleep well tonight.

Here are some lovely autumnal trees and the signal box at Blair Atholl.  I will try to catch up on blipping/commenting soon.  I am too tired tonight!
