Ride Across the Tide

There was a serious Tsunami warning today, a by-product of the massive earthquake that hit Chile. The coasts of California, Washington and here in Oregon had the warnings that were in effect until after 4 p.m. We delayed our plans for going out four wheeling until around 5 p.m. to be sure there was no danger being so close to the water.

This is my twelve year old cousin showing us how to turn off on a small sand bank. He ended up on three wheels and almost dumped the bike, but he managed to pull it together in the last seconds. He is a little more fearless than I am. I stayed on the hard packed sand near the shoreline and barely raised any sand.

Even with the late start, we managed to fit in a lot of fun. The evening ended with a huge bon fire, cold chicken for dinner, and smores for dessert.
