Delight in the Details

Noise Makers

I was folding clothes this afternoon when I heard the cry of what I thought was an animal in pain. I went out front to investigate, ready to find some new kind of goose or bird stuck under the fence or limping from the scene of an accident.

I ended up finding my daughter and her best friend blowing tulip leaves making a squeeky racket. Laughing, I asked who taught them how to play leaves and Shay said, "Grandma taught me how to whistle with grass years ago!"

I grabbed the camera before their performance was complete.
