On the way to the start

We were orienteering on Birsemore Hill,near Aboyne today, on our way to another weekend of Race the Castles. This is S on her way up to the assembly area; the weather was gradually improving after early rain and low cloud. We had two short races at the top of the hill; the first one was a normal orienteering race, but the second was a chasing start, where the quickest in the first race sets off and then the rest start at the number of seconds they were behind. The elite field had several top orienteers and it was a good spectacle.
