Orienteering at Forvie

Today was the last day of Race the Castles, and unlike the rest wasn't at a castle. Rather, it was at the Sands of Forvie north of Aberdeen. This is an area of sand dunes and is a national nature reserve. As with all the other days the weather was great; mild, breezy but sunny. It was also the second day of the Senior Home Internationals and they had the relays. The first leg runners were just near the spectator control before I had to leave for my run. As well as the home nations there were some other teams. This is the runner on first leg for the Czech Republic (they went on to win); in the background is Bennachie. Scotland ended up overall winners although England won the relays by one point.
