The final chapter

This is my forth blip following the life history of the Lawyer's Wig which grows on a lawn Arnside Promenade.

These two have now reached maturity and have braved difficult weather conditions. You can now see how it splits and begins to look like a wig.

It's other common name is Shaggy Ink Cap. The gills inside are pink at first but then turn black. They exude a black liquid which contains the spores and drips to the ground. Hence its " Ink Cap" name. If it is picked it turns black quite quickly.

There are more coming through on other parts of the lawn. Usually on the same lawn a Fairy Ring of toadstools appears with a diameter of ten or more feet. This year it has not appeared.
