Blowing a hoolie

It was very windy today with lots of 'white horses' on the water. This 'oil products tanker' the Solent Fisher was struggling against the waves with the wind at 36 knots by the Sutors. According to the Beaufort scale this comes in at Beaufort number 8- 'Gale, fresh gale, moderately high waves with breaking crests forming spindrift . Well marked streaks of foam are blown along wind direction. Considerable airborne spray.
Some twigs broken from trees . Cars veer on road. Progress on foot is seriously impeded.'
We had several sharp showers but it mainly stayed dry and sunny. One lovely rainbow spotted this morning over the field.
