Autumn in the woods

It's just over a month since Rosie started on treatment for cancer, and, against the odds, she's still doing remarkably well and enjoys going out. As it was such a beautiful autumn morning we took her to Southey Wood for a gentle walk amongst the fallen leaves. She's living like a princess and costing us a small fortune in the process, but it's a small price to pay for this unexpected bonus time. Her favourite foods are poached chicken legs and chicken liver, though she's also quite keen on Waitrose terrines. Today she also enjoyed a sausage and some cherry and honey cake!

Before our walk I'd taken Chris, Lizzy and Alex to the station, as they're off to Amsterdam for five days with a group of friends. Later this afternoon one of the other Mums dropped round to say that their journey to Stansted had been rather traumatic - someone had been hit by a train which meant that their train was delayed at March for a prolonged period. Taxis were eventually provided, but the group had to split up. Chris and her son volunteered to take the second taxi and only managed to get on the plane with moments to spare. Hopefully the rest of the break will be less eventful!
