Cycling along the Trans Pennine Trail

Just completed a 20 mile bike ride with my very good friend Hector (who says hello to IngunnInOslo). This part used to be a railway line opened in the 1850's between Garston Docks in Liverpool and Manchester. The line was still running a 100 years later and passes through some of the most beautiful countryside in Cheshire - lots of farms etc. The shot looks a bit spooky doesn't it and we kept expecting to see Hobbits or Goblins at least but all we saw were other bike riders and walkers (with and without children, dogs etc..). The TPT as it is known is an amazing piece of co-operation between local councils as it stretches from the West Coast of England Southport - Irish Sea) all the way to the East Coast of England (Hornsea - North Sea) a distance of 215 miles (346 km) - it is open all year around and the only thing you don't get on it is motorised vehicles - hurrah.
