A wet red squirrel has breakfast

The morning dawned with rain - lots of it. Typical Lake District weather, it's rained every time I've visited!
The hotel has red squirrels in the grounds and feeds them every morning. It was lovely to watch them racing at top speed to grab the nuts and dash off with them. I was lucky to catch this one sitting still for a few seconds!
We went to Haverthwaite Steam Railway where we had a rise on the train (diesel engine as the steam one had broken down). This was followed by a cruise along Lake Windermere then looked round a wet Bowness. Grasmere came next before heading home. The M6 was closed due to an accident so spent a long time stationary before they let us divert off.

This was my first coach holiday, we saw a lot of things but I really missed the independence of choosing where to go rather than where the trip dictated.
