Stepping Stones

Bowling along in the car with the sunshine roof open, George and I went out and about on a glorious morning. Everybody else had the same idea, there was a huge amount of traffic.
Our first stop was to The Stepping Stones over the River Mole at the foot of Box Hill. Last time we came they were submerged to a great depth by last winter's floods. Today the river was gentle until it met the obstacle of the stones. George negotiated the stones and walked downstream on the other side of the river. He crossed a bridge and arrived back with me in no time at all. He must have run all the way.
We then went up the famous Zig-Zag to Box Hill. The Zig-Zag features in all the competitive cycle races, including the 2012 Olympics, so even on a weekday we had plenty of cyclists to negotiate. We had planned to stop at the top of the hill and admire the extensive view, but the car park was completely full and the place was seething with people, just like a summer Bank Holiday! We gave it a miss and took a little used route home. I spotted several blips for future reference!
