Dan with Georgia and Archer

Went over to the Marina in Montague Harbor to buy gas for the boat this morning and take a picture for the weekly blip challenge, “people and their pets”. :-) Have seen no people or any pets on the island all week.

Meet Dan. He and his brother Mike bought this marina early this summer and have done wonderful things fixing it up. With them come their dogs. Georgia on the left is Mike’s, Archer belongs to Dan. Dan and Archer had just been away for several weeks -when that happens, the dog left behind is very mellow — but today they were so happy to see one another they were racing like crazy all over the docks and the beach, but somehow managed a pose on Dan’s boat. Georgia would not let Archer out of her sight. These dogs are there greeting visitors and entertaining people including my grandchildren who love to throw fir cones for them to endlessly enthusiastically fetch. They are very well behaved actually and visitor dogs are expected to be well behaved too. There are signs to remind one. (see the flickr set) The marina facilities (except for moorage of course) aren't open in the winter but these these nice guys are there on Saturday mornings for those (mostly) locals who want gas.

A few on flickr.

The weather turned spectacular late today so we had to get out on the water for a row
......sadly we have to leave tomorrow.
