a migrant

On opening my trap yesterday morning I found 2 moths, a Feathered thorn and this beauty I had not seen before, Disappointed I put them in the fridge, to id today. I didn't really think much about this moth until I luckily found my moth book today (in a pile of other books!) and decided to see if I could id it.
Flicking through the book, the only moth like it was a rare migrant Palpita vitrealis, but surely not!! ........
But yes it!! appearing in autumn in south and south west England.
It is widespread in southern Europe where it feeds on Jasmne and olive..who would have thought? Pretty little moth too, I am well made up!
