club fungi.....

Another quick fungus foray today, back to the wonderful land of waxcaps and clubs!
I am pleased to say they are all coming along really nicely, and amoung the yellow and scarlet waxcaps I also found the amazingly beautiful Parrot waxcap, white spindles and these......really interesting Apricot clubs......well I think they are!

The Apricot club Clavulinopsis luteoalba, is a relatively common fairy club fungus of short turf meadows, lawns and parks that are mown (or grazed) but not improved in any way with herbicides or fertilizers.
It can be found from July to November ( though I have only seen them in the last 3 weeks), and is quite small, with the individual clubs reaching between 3 - 6 cm tall
