THE GEESE AT MEINBREXEN

were test-flying.
At seven o'clock in the morning Piet Hein and I , as we were both awake, decided to rise and start unpacking the ten boxes with books and other tekst material that Piet Hein had not touched since we had arrived here two weeks ago now.
Quite a task because it implied a lot of re-arranging the books and journals on the shelves in his library.
With four hands it all went very well and we succeeded to finish the job before lunch. The cartons neatly folded, ready for re-cycling.
Our last day here and it seemed a great idea to drive to Meinbrexen in the afternoon.
The weather looked changeable but we had luck to enjoy a bit of sunshine when we walked towards the gravel-pit. As always as soon as we walk there we feel as if we are coming home, the wide area, all green around us, the quietness and the water bird-life to admire. Geese were flying in formation, others were swimming in the big pond, our spirits rise and the hard working of the morning forgotten.

My haiku:

A true lesson to
Survive on their long journey
Going south soon now

And the proverb:

I love to begin a journey on Sunday.

1738 in Swift, Dialogues. (because I shall have all the prayers of the church to preserve all that travel by land or by water)

Well, we will travel on Monday, by land and with several train-connections to gain.
Love to see Mischa again.
