Art auction

Just back from Art on the Rock, the annual fund raising auction for Artlink Central, an art agency charity working with people in hospitals, prisons and those in the community with special needs.


Artists donate work for this event which this year was held in the Pathfoot Building of Stirling `university. I arrived too late for the wine and canapés and only just in time for the auction.

These events are notorious for work fetching prices well below the normal asking price
and rely heavily on the goodwill of artists prepared to donate work for free.

And so it was that I acquired this oil painting of a feather by Jacqueline Marr, a young artist with a growing reputation.
