King of the Woods

We put the suet feeder back up as the pileated woodpeckers like it and the bears aren't so hungry at this time of year. At least I hope they aren't. Sure enough, not one, but two pileateds soon showed up. This is a female (the brow is grey rather than red) so it probably should be titled Queen of the Woods, but never mind.

Not the best quality photo in the world - I took it through the glass of the kitchen window which causes the odd distortions in the background that are particularly apparent on the right hand side of the frame. Pleased to see the Pills again though, and they are definitely worthy of today's blip.
