Mono Monday – Old and New

One is very old (between about 400 million years old and 65.5 million years old) and the other pretty new (I'd guess a few months or even years – it is a big snail… must have kept a low profile, so as not to attract the attention of those blue tongues).

I know that a snail is not the closest living relative of an ammonite, but it's the closest I had in my garden, without taking a trip to the seaside to collect a squid, cuttlefish or octopus.
