Coming to the End.

These poor toadstools are coming to the end of their life; they're growing out of the steps in our garden which are made from recycled wooden railway sleepers, and which should have been heavily impregnated with substances intended to stop such growth. We have been carefully circumnavigating the fungi for a week or more as they are rather attractive. I haven't got around to identifying them yet.

I dropped a clanger by not checking the background properly until it was too late to retake, and then compounded the problem by using the wrong source for the fill-in vegetation; like Ernie Wise's wig, you can see the join. I've spent far longer than the picture merits trying to save it so I'll just have to put it down to experience.
