1914

Three inherited objects:-

Photo of my Grannie, Winifred age +/- 18

Brass tobacco tin sent as a Christmas gift to all ranks (British) engaged in the Great War in 1914. This was organised by Princess Mary age 17, daughter of George V & that's her portrait on the tin. This one was received by my great uncle Willie age 17 & somehow it slipped through the generations to me...

Along with his beautiful prismatic compass which merits much better lighting & a much better photo, n'est-ce pas?
