Sun Rays on Dogs and Dew

The sun is rising just after 6.am at the moment. By the time I and the dogs had walked along the river tracks to near the Taylor Dam the sun was shining over the top of the hills to the east and creating a rainbow effect with its rays. There had been a heavy shower of rain during the night and hence there was almost a frost. The rain made for very heavy dew which looked magical on the fennel plants alongside the tracks. The scent of the fennel was intoxicating and close-up it looked as if it was covered with millions of tiny diamonds.
The dogs’ coats became extremely wet as they ran helter skelter through the undergrowth.
Along with having our property on the market and thus “down-sizing” – how I hate that term….. we are finding a new home for one of the dogs. Gypsy is going to be adopted by a very lovely lady who lives not far away and is a keen walker. It will be very hard to part with Gypsy but I know we are doing the right thing for her….. More about Gypsy in the next day or so…..
