The Fishmonger

Mr. Hannah thinks he is one of a dying breed. He may be right. I can think of one other fishmonger in South Liverpool and one in St. John's market in town. How many others are there in Liverpool? We used to have one down the road, but when Mr. Huddleston retired, the business closed. That seems to be the way. The present fishmongers are often second generation, but their children have "done well", got degrees and jobs outside the family business. When the parents retire, the shops close.
