A bridge

I can see this bridge in the middle-distance from the front windows of our house. It is one of several small bridges over the South Galson River. I like this one because it is so simple but so practical (just a single lump of cast concrete). I use it as an indicator to the height of the river after heavy rain. It reminds me of the man who used to have this croft - sadly no longer with us - who was a major-league character. It seems that they don't make characters like that any more...
