RGS #74 is back!

My PBL Rio Grande Southern locomotive #74 is back home. It had an extended vacation in Texas being tuned up, cleaned, and greased. Anyway, she is back and delivering the new tractors to Dolores in this blip.

#74 was purchased by the RGS in 1948 from the Colorado and Southern for $2,000. It was built by Brooks in 1898 and was a B-4-F class 2-8-0. It ran on the RGS until the end of the railroad in 1952. Interestingly the firemen did not like the loco, saying that the long narrow firebox was hard to fire.

The PBL model I have has the green boiler jacket and every detail present on the real thing. And digital sound - of course!
