Speed

I must be going so fast here, obviously the camera on my phone couldn't pick up the sheer scale of my speed over this object!

We, as in myself and Stuart, started the day off by jumping in the car and driving to our mtb spot, what we didn't realise when we got there was that there was a demo day on, with some of the biggest manufacturers and a sports drink supplier, we made sure we drank plenty of the samples before heading out to tackle the hill.

The first part was fine, a few patches of ice here and there to wheel spin on, but nothing too troublesome especially on the first descent. However, this ice soon turned into horrible, wet, slushy snow and ice making it almost impossible to ride, we ended up walking to the top of the hill with my bike riding me rather than the other way around!

The first part of the descent wasn't much better, we tried to keep on the bike but the front wheel would slide wildly out of control, Stuart even had a few falls into the soft snow, further down and under the cover of the trees, the snow became easier to ride through, we even managed to get some air on the jumps.

The last section was superb, with the snow making way for some slippery ice, blast down the straight parts, hold the back brake on, turn and slide through the corners, superb!! We both got back to the cafe knackered and covered in mud!

Its just a shame we had to leave to drive back to Aberdeen!
