Not so much Walkies as Wobblies these days

After waking up somewhat fuzzy headed this morning after our reunion shenanigans me and sis took her dog, Bailey out for his morning walk once we had had our cuppa and a bacon sandwich:-)

As young girls, me and my sis were brought up with Dobermans as pets. Mum and dad had three. Ali has continued the theme and Bailey is her third Doberman.

Bailey is 10 years old now and not the boisterous strong dog he once was. His once prancing like walk now resembles more of a side to side waddle.

Anyone who knows their dogs, will know that Dobermans tend to suffer with their hind legs as they get older. Bails is the apple of my sis's eye and she has painstakingly looked after his health, through his diet, including turmeric, has researched natural remedies rather than prescribed drugs that mad him sick, he has acupuncture, heat pads, a memory foam basket and has had hydrotherapy all to aid his arthritis. He was lame on his right side, but has made great strides, literally, over the last few months.

Trouble is he still thinks he can run around and chase squirrels etc. so Ali tends to keep him on his extended lead and only let's him off if there is absolutely no one else around. Ali runs obedience classes at a local dog club, so as you can imagine Bails is extremely obedient.

When we got back Bails knows the drill. He sits outside on the step and waits for permission to step onto his towel, in the hall, where he sits, whilst Ali wipes his front paws clean of mud. Then as he can no longer stand on three legs, because he would get a wobble on, or even fall over, Ali commands him to lie flat, resulting in him rolling onto one side or the other, so she can clean his back paws!

Such a good boy!!
