A day on the beach

The day started with my making a 3D model of the basket we found yesterday. You can see it here but you do need to view through GoogleChrome if you want to move it about.
After the excitements of yesterday, today the day was spent mapping the site as it was exposed on the beach. Making life easy, taking the car down to the site was a plus.
More peat has been exposed and with it many more features including pits, linear marks and what looks like footprints. Four hours in the cold left its mark but it was interesting to watch a professional archaeologist at work.
The site has made it big in Archaeologicla circles - the SCHARP project put it up on their Facebook page and got ten thousand hits in two hours....
Last thing I then wanted to do was watch a play by a touring company but that is what we did. In parts as impenetrable as the archaeological site, it was however tense through to the end - an end that provoked discussion afterwards over a large glass of wine (or two) at a neighbours.
