Tread softly, my friend

The fallen leaves nestle softly on the grass under the arched cherry trees. Few human feet tread this path, so the little creatures who frolic, forage and even make their homes among them not only feel safe, but know that the pretty leaves won’t be quickly trodden to mud, thus allowing them time to make their final preparations for winter.
