Lights! Camera! Acting!

This evening, we were in Cardiff Bay to watch Off Centre, a drama group for adults, perform plays based on overheard conversation in promenade theatre. Which means that the actors are placed at strategic intervals throughout the venue and the audience walks from one performance to the next.

Off Centre is fortunate to have as its base the stunning Wales Millennium Centre.

We were guided around it, starting in the foyer at the foot of the stairs, where we found a brother and sister escaping their father's wake for a few minutes; then upstairs to hear from a disgruntled security guard with some trade secrets to divulge; and on into the bar, to hear grating confessions; we filed past Josephine's coat of many colours, the paper garden and hair-raising art work for a heart-to-heart that led to a medical intervention; before taking a break at the restrooms and lending a sympathetic ear to a daughter-turned-carer to her mother; finally, we sunk into comfortable sofas in front of the Glanfa stage, rested our bunions and waited for the bus home with Megan and her friend, Mabel.
