The Love Child Chronicles

"Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" in November

This Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor the darkness everywhere;
True man, yet very God, from sin and death He saves us,
And lightens every load. - Theodore Baker (English Translation)

An anonymous German author penned the original text in the late 1500's. A hymn of Christian origin, and one that reflects the miracle of the birth of Jesus by the VIrgin Mary amidst sin and darkness.

Today, a rose is about to bloom in our front yard.

Despite the wind and cold, and furious wet snow a few days ago, this beautiful piece of nature thrives.

Don't ask me why, but it gave me hope today. Hope of better days ahead.

November has never been an easy month for me. Sad memories shroud what should be a happy time of year.

How sweet that a single pink bloom can remind me that even the most fragile bloom can withstand the harshness of Mother Nature.

A fragrant reminder that Faith does lighten the load.
