A 'Golden Moment'
We stayed locally today and although we didn't have the beautiful blue skies of the previous two days, we managed to get a good long walk in. At eleven o'clock we did 2 minutes silence.
We sat beside this waterfall to eat lunch and a golden eagle flew directly over our heads! I don't know who was the most surprised...him or us!! We have seen him in this vicinity before but it was still very exciting.
Last night I set up the camera on the patio and waited patiently for a glimmer of green on the northern horizon. I did a few long exposures and couldn't believe my luck. There, as clear as day, were the telltale signs, so I took a few more and by this time I was jumping up and down with excitement.
Just then, a sliver of white appeared on the horizon. I then realised that the green glow had been the moon, slowly creeping up. I don't know why it appeared green but it did. Very disappointed :-(
