Uphill

11.2C and dull. Very dull. Depressingly dull. Moderate breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. We went down the road to the shore road and then crossed the road bridge over the railway and went down to the beach at Westhaven. The tide was further out than yesterday. The waves were still crashing in over the rocks, and I was surprised to see two fishermen out on the rocks with rods and tripods to support them.

We walked along the beach towards Carnoustie and then along the path that used to be the boardwalk and then on towards the golf courses before turning up to the High Street. We walked back along to the main road out of town then back home. Quite a long walk.

When we were nearly home I noticed the tractor and plough which have been working in the fields near us in the last few days. It was working its way up the field next to the one with the bridle path. About half a mile or so away from where we were. I persuaded Maeve to walk up to the church and start down the bridle path to wait for the tractor. It was ploughing close to the edge of the field on its last run uphill from the shore end of the field.
