San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers

I met my son and his family today in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco where we visited the Conservatory of Flowers, a large botanical greenhouse constructed in 1878. It houses an important collection of exotic plants. It is the oldest building in Golden Gate Park and the oldest municipal wooden conservatory remaining in the United States. It also houses a temporary exhibit featuring a working model train running through models of San Francisco landmarks.

It was a beautiful, sunny day. From the Conservatory, we headed to a Carousel and then had a lunch of crepes, sitting outside under welcome heaters as it was a bit chilly with the breeze. Loved spending time with the two grandchildren.
